Model is  stitched on 40 count Roxy Floss Co. linen in the colour way Speculaas using flosses by Roxy Floss Co. A DMC conversion is provided but due to the over-dyed nature of the Roxy Floss Co. flosses, an exact match is not possible. Feel free to use whatever fibres you like.

The design is charted in cross-stitch over two as well as over one, as well as black work (back stitching) in the windows. I have provided some over two flags to replace the oner one birds if you’d like to avoid stitching over one. I have likewise provided an over two option for the cat’s crown and eyes as well as a larger cartouche option if your cat’s name is long. An over two and an over one alphabet is provided  for you to personalize your piece. If you don’t want to do the blackwork windows just fill the area with Baker’s Block (DMC 3371). I have left my initials and cat’s name just to provide a general guideline for letter placement.

The model s stitched using some specialty stitches that are entirely optional, including 24 leg eyes over 6 linen threads (in the border), satin stitch (in the border and in the cat’s nose), and smyrna crosses over 4 linen threads (in the lawn using Pinery (DMC 937). All of the over one stitching (with the exception of the red central diamond in the cat’s crown) are stitched over one in tent stitch. Feel free to use full crosses over one if you’re feeling daring!
